Thunderbirds alum Kiecker-Olson chosen for weekly Atlantic Hockey America honors
Canisius senior forward Killian Kiecker-Olson has been named the Atlantic Hockey America’s Forward of the Week.
A native of Andover, Minn., Kiecker-Olson registered a team-high five points (goal, four assists) during the Golden Griffins’ split of their AHA series against Holy Cross last weekend at LECOM Harborcenter. The Colorado Thunderbirds alum also paced Canisius with a .543 faceoff winning percentage, winning 19 of 35 draws taken against the Crusaders during the two-game set.
Kiecker-Olson dished out a pair of assists in the series opener before registering a career-high three points in a goal and two assists in the Griffs’ 5-3 victory over the Crusaders in the finale.
Skating in all 30 games this season, Kiecker-Olson has enjoyed a breakout season that has seen him establish career highs in goals (seven), assists (13) and points (20). He also ranks first on the squad in both faceoff wins (215) and faceoff winning percentage (.538).
