RoughRiders, Monarch alum, Superior native Wasik claims monthly AHA award

Air Force junior Dominik Wasik has been named the Atlantic Hockey America Goaltender of the Month.

Wasik, from Superior, earned two Goaltender of the Week honors in November. He led Air Force to a 6-2-1 record in nine starts with a 2.31 GAA and a .920 save percentage. His 241 saves in November are the most by any AHA goalie.

He made a career high 35 saves in the 3-2 win at Sacred Heart (Nov. 8). In the SHU series, he stopped 63 of 66 shots. In the 3-2 overtime win at Army, he made 31 saves, the second most of his career. In each game at Canisius, he made 29 saves as Air Force took four of the six points in the series on the road.

Back in Colorado, Wasik played for the Rocky Mountain RoughRiders and Monarch High School.
