Former Thunderbirds standout Nicholetts signs ’26-27 contract with ECHL’s Thunder
The ECHL’s Wichita Thunder has announced the signing of forward Brayden Nicholetts for the 2026-27 season.
Nicholetts is entering his second season as a pro. The Spruce Grove, Alta., native turned pro at the end of his college career in 2024-25 and appeared in 16 games for the Utah Grizzlies. Last season, he played in 10 games for the Norfolk Admirals.
Prior to turning pro, Nicholetts played four seasons of NCAA Division I college hockey at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks where he tallied 16 points (eight goals, eight assists) in 67 games.
During his youth hockey days, Nicholetts skated with the Colorado Thunderbirds.
