Centennial native Alfieri ‘couldn’t be more excited’ with commitment to NCAA D-III Lake Forest

Alec Alfieri is playing his final season of junior hockey in 2025-26 for the NCDC’s West Chester Wolves and enjoying team and individual success in the process.

Next season, the Centennial native will be off to college hockey, recently committing to NCAA Division III Lake Forest College, a school roughly 45 minutes north of Chicago.

“This opportunity was presented to me after one of our games,” Alfieri said. “The Lake Forest assistant coach Cory Anderson approached me and wanted to set up a time to chat. From there, we formed a good relationship and the rest was history. Lake Forest is definitely known for its strong academics and great hockey facilities. They play, in my opinion, the toughest conference in NCAA Division III, the NCHA. Lake Forest was a perfect fit for me and I couldn’t be more excited.

“This season has definitely been the most challenging year. Every team in our division is super competitive and driven to win, so every night is a battle. Personally, I’m having the best season so far in my junior hockey career. I’ve been spending more time on myself, pushing myself to the limits in the gym and in the recovery aspect of the game, and just trying to fine-tune every little detail I can.”

Entering the home stretch of the season, Alfieri has plans to keep playing meaningful games well into the spring.

“I’m looking forward to the final stretch here, trying to maintain our playoff spot,” Alfieri said. “As a team, we definitely have a goal in mind to go on a run.”

Growing up, Alfieri played for the Littleton Hawks, Krivo School of Hockey Elite, Colorado Rampage, and Valor Christian High School.
