After decades of combined service to Colorado hockey, CAHA proudly recognizes and thanks Anda Craven and Stacey Zis as they transition from their roles as CAHA Affiliate Registrars.

Anda retires after an incredible tenure, while Stacey transitions away following a tremendous tenure of her own, and together they leave behind a lasting impact on hockey across the state.

A Lasting Impact on Colorado Hockey

Anda’s involvement in hockey spans nearly 30 years, beginning as a team manager and growing into leadership roles across multiple associations. She also contributed 15 years to the High Plains Hockey League and served the past 12 years as a CAHA Affiliate Registrar.

Stacey served alongside Anda for the past three years, with volunteer contributions to Boulder Hockey Club, High Plains Hockey League, and Monarch High School Hockey.

Together, they became the backbone of administrative operations across Colorado hockey.

“Anda has been the backbone of CAHA for years, ensuring everything ran smoothly behind the scenes, while Stacey stepped into a demanding role and handled every challenge with professionalism and grace.” Jen Bosier, CAHA Scoring Administrator

The Scope of Their Work

In a typical season, they have:

  • Processed 900–1,000+ team rosters
  • Approved 240–400+ travel permits
  • Managed 60–70+ tournaments
  • Verified hundreds of player records

They also led training, onboarding, credential reviews, and compliance across CAHA and USA Hockey systems.

Leadership, Innovation, and Dedication

They modernized key processes including DOB verification, travel permits, tournament submissions, and credentialing.

“Working with Anda over the years has truly been a privilege. Her knowledge and professionalism made an enormous impact.” Kim Feno, Colorado Thunderbirds

More Than Just the Work

CAHA Secretary Board Update (Section 13, PP's)

Re: 2025–2026 Policies & Procedures Update – State Recreation Playoffs

January 29, 2026

At the January 28 Board Meeting, CAHA approved modifications to the Policies & Procedures governing Section 13 – State Recreation Tournament.

The updates authorize CAHA to determine the number of qualifying teams across age groups, ensuring alignment with budgetary considerations and limited ice availability. These adjustments provide necessary flexibility to effectively administer the tournament while maintaining operational and scheduling constraints.

The policy revisions were previously communicated to membership via email on January 7, 2026, and further clarified in a January 8, 2026 email distributed to all Hockey Directors.

To support associations, CAHA has also created a State Playoff Resource Page:

Re: CAHA v. Kanai Court Judgment

Dear Member,

Today, the Court entered an order (attached) in CAHA’s favor on all claims asserted against former CAHA president Randy Kanai and rejected Kanai’s third-party claims against Brian Smith. The Court did not duplicate damages under the different causes of action but did enter them under the civil theft claim so that they are trebled. In short, Mr. Kanai is liable for $544,189.74 in damages and $35,111.42 in prejudgment interest. We can also seek costs associated with the action.

The current CAHA board is committed to transparency and upholding accountability for our actions and the actions of our members. This lawsuit was originally brought against Mr. Kanai in October 2023. With this judgment, we are hopeful that the business of promoting amateur hockey in Colorado can continue to move forward.

You will find the Court Trial Order & Entry of Judgment PDF attached below.

We are appreciative to the court, CAHA’s legal counsel, USA Hockey, and our members for their support and patience through this process.
